To your pencils and brushes!
An Arts, Drawing and Painting school was born on August 26, 2013 in Châtel-St-Denis to offer children from here and the surrounding villages, an activity that allows them to blossom through artistic creation. What great artistic moments, exchanges and interactivity between the children, teenagers and adult students.
They are introduced to drawing and painting through a wide range of drawing techniques: gouache, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, pencils, colored pencils, graphite, sanguine, Indian ink, earth pigments... (oil painting on request).
Through a teaching framework based on the freedom to create, on listening to and observing the child, and where the child's qualities are brought to the fore, we approach art from the point of view of small groups of 6 - 7 - 8 year olds, 9 - 10 - 11 year olds, 12 - 13 - 14 year olds, 15 - 16 - 17 year olds and adults according to demand.
In every class, Sandra listens to her students and their desires, providing a real personal follow-up for each student. A relationship of great trust is established as each student's creations take shape.
When you mix colors on your palette, you feel in harmony with yourself. Just time for yourself, whether you're big or small.

New! Party at the Sirius cinema - Saturday, May 24, 2025
A look back at an unforgettable moment at Cinéma Sirius
Thank you all for coming!
The immersive screening organized at the Cinéma Sirius was a real success and a moment of shared emotion.
This village cinema, which has been in operation since 1930, is particularly close to our hearts. Supported today by a team of young enthusiasts, it continues to thrive despite the challenges of recent years.
Sandra Kupferschmid's idea of an immersive exhibition of paintings projected onto a large screen was born in this spirit of support and cultural innovation. Thanks to you, the 3rd art met the 7th with a bang!
Thanks to Victoria Fankhaenel, a promising young director, for her 35-minute report, and to all those who helped make the day a unique experience.
Nearly 500 of you discovered 100 works in a new format, and your warm feedback is our greatest reward.
Victoria Fankhaenel's report invites you into the intimacy of the students at l'Atelier and gives you the best possible reflection of the teaching work accomplished by Sandra for over 12 years.
La Fête en Images
Open House 2024
In May 2024, Atelier Indigo broke new ground! For a whole day, the spotlight focused on the students and their works in progress, revealing the Atelier as a veritable artists' nest. Instead of a finished work hanging on the wall, the human face was brought to the fore, demonstrating the complexity and rigor of creation. A unique and exceptional day of sharing that warmed hearts, as witnessed by the video below. We hope you enjoyed it. Thank you to all the students and their parents for this wonderful celebration at school!

10 years of Atelier Indigo
In June 2023, the drawing school celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Image-In Gallery. For 4 days, the public enjoyed a free exhibition based on the theme of past, present and future. Below is a video reflection of this magnificent event, which brought together over 101 students and their families, as well as other visitors. Some of my students have been following my work for 10 years now. I'm delighted by the confidence they have shown in me, and that they are all proud of their artistic training. I offer them solid training, both technically and as colorists, in small groups. It's a bonding experience. Coaching, caring and listening to each individual is something I feel very strongly about. The better I know my students, the more I can anticipate and take them to greater heights over the years. Atelier Indigo is here for you, for many years to come and a new decade. Welcome to your Atelier, where there's something for everyone. Sandra Kupferschmid

For those interested in finding out more about their drawing teacher, Sandra Kupferschmid, you can listen to the passage from Monday evening, February 25, 2024 at radio Unimix, Fribourg University Radio, who interviewed Sandra.
Indeed, she had the pleasure of being interviewed for a wonderful 30-minute portrait by her former pupil Sarah Alili from Châtel-St-Denis, a university student in Fribourg and future journalist. A lovely moment of sharing between laughter and seriousness with big radio microphones. Thanks to Sarah for her professionalism and top-notch questions. If you'd like to find out more about her background, you can listen to the show below.
