The Cursus

My journey

After graduating from the Fribourg engineering school in 1998 with a degree in architecture, I've led several lives in one, all of which have enriched me greatly. I worked mainly as an architect for 15 years, including a few years with Atelier78 in Châtel-St-Denis, for those who know me, but also in other offices in Cugy, Lausanne and Vevey. I also had the opportunity to work as a freelance writer for architecture and decoration magazines for 4 years. As far as my artistic passions are concerned, I've taken theater classes for 2 years, dance for some 30 years with numerous performances and stage experience, music after 5 years of cello at the conservatory, and self-taught writing for 2 years... Needless to say, Art lives within me and I need it.

In terms of my work today, I've been expressing myself primarily through the transmission of Art to my students since 2013. The passion is unshakeable. At the same time, I put forward my own work as a painter, which I exhibit at the Galerie d'Art in Châtel-St-Denis, my small gallery. The continuity of Art is essential to me, and in the context of this school, I don't give lessons, but I pass on, as a close friend told me.

It's a caring, positive approach to teaching that constantly encourages and builds confidence. I really listen to everyone.
When I was younger, I also had the opportunity to teach dance to children as a substitute and take them to a show. This experience touched me deeply, and I'd like to be with them again, to put them in the spotlight in a field I've always loved, ever since I was 13. I've been drawing and painting for 33 years, to my great delight. I'm delighted to be able to pass it on to those who also have a visceral need for it.
