REFLECTIONS OF ARCHITECTURAL INTERNSHIPS

Since 2015, I've been offering introductory courses in Architecture for young people aged 11 and over in a spacious, bright and peaceful Atelier at the Châtel-St-Denis institute. Already 5 young people have begun their training as architects, with the certainty of being on the right path and the «concrete» files they need to present themselves. I pass on my passion to these young people, whereas Architecture is taught much later at HES or university, at the age of 20. In the space of 4 days, the drawing studio is transformed into a room of students who work hard to produce finished projects or models. It's a truly extraordinary form of teaching, involving and exclusive for 9 students. Please note: courses at Easter and in autumn, registration at least 6 months in advance.

Each project is unique and personal. They project themselves as adults, in order to build their dream home, hotel, sports center or 2-storey villa. Everything is studied to ensure that the student progresses through the various levels of difficulty, just like the milestones to be reached. You come and do your project on one course, and then on the second, you draw your facades and model, according to the levels. Project plans are not shown on the site, to preserve everyone's intellectual property. Instead, they are produced on the drawing board, by hand at 1:200 or 1:100, depending on the project. Students learn precision, patience and the warm atmosphere of a group of young students.

Having worked for 15 years as an architect, on architectural competitions, projects, execution and detail drawings, estimates, tenders, site work, customer and business relations, I've loved my job with a passion. Numerous houses, buildings, medical practices, restaurants, funeral centers, mountain refreshment stands have seen the light of day... But my first passion, painting, caught up with me at the dawn of my 40th birthday. And since 2013, I've been lighting flames every day, the kind that will light up life's paths.
