The Artists

Groups

At the Ecole d'Arts, you'll find small groups of artists in three age categories. Classes can accommodate a maximum of 10 students, to ensure the best possible attention and follow-up.

A parallel will be drawn with the drawing program at primary and secondary school level, so as not to return to subjects already assimilated.

Ages 6 - 7 - 8 :

  • Create your own colors.
  • Follow-up on the teacher's themes and a free class, regularly on the child's chosen theme.
  • Introduction to different techniques, colored pencils, pastels or neocolors, gouache or acrylic, pencils,...
  • Approach to different planes, perspective.
  • Paper selection and framing effects
  • Observation and various studies.
  • Putting together your file.

9 - 10 - 11 years :

  • Composition, drawing placement, proportions.
  • 1st notion of perspective and depth, through foreground and background.
  • Follow-up on the teacher's themes and a free class, regularly on the child's chosen theme.
  • Introduction to different techniques: colored pencils, pastels or neocolors, gouache or acrylics, pencils with different hardnesses of lead, graphite, sanguine and white chalk, charcoal, choice of paper...
  • Observe, invent, free yourself.
  • Abstract or figurative.
  • Putting together your file.

12 - 13 - 14 years, ditto 15 - 16 - 17 years :

  • Freedom of theme, development of your own research.
  • Composition, proportions.
  • More detailed perspective and depth.
  • Reproduce to learn.
  • Follow-up on some of the teacher's themes.
  • Approach to different techniques, colored pencils, pastels, acrylics, pencils with hardness of lead, graphite, sanguine, charcoal, watercolor...oil on request.
  • Observe, invent, free yourself.
  • Portrait and hand studies in pencil or charcoal.
  • Putting together your file.

Adults :

  • Forget about being an adult, listen to your intuition.
  • Free yourself and express yourself.
  • Beginners or advanced, depending on demand.
  • Study of sketching, color, media...
  • Study of framing and enhancement.
  • Composition, drawing placement, proportions.
  • Perspective and depth in detail.
  • Reproduce styles as required.
  • Follow-up of certain themes by the teacher if necessary.
  • Introduction to different techniques, colored pencils, pastels, acrylics, pencils with different hardnesses of lead, graphite, sanguine, charcoal, watercolor, oil on request.
  • Study of portraits and hands in pencil or charcoal.
  • Putting together your file.
